Ahhh... So you see single quotes are literal information. Stuff that doesn't change (except html parsing). Ex. Double Quotes will allow variables as they are interpreted.
Basic debugging techniques include running it through a URL, Make sure it is updated, make sure display_errors is on, and check HTML source code
The _SERVER variable has plenty of information about the webpage such as what the server is running on how you are viewing a page and the file path.
